Bioinformatics:

Currently two graduate students from George Mason University School of Computational Sciences work in the Matthews lab as Bioinformatics specialists. Nadim Alkharouf and Imed Ben Chouikha design and create databases for gene analysis and microarray experiments and apply statistical algorithms to analyze data.

The Primary goal of these graduate students is to develop tools to automate the storage, retrieval and analysis of biological data, whether that data be sequence data or microarray experimentation data.
